can I push using 16ft pst's ?
I've gotta learn to push cranks..... Gonna get me an edge a cation over in sippi in two weeks. Gonna set my boat up after that trip and try it on Martin.
Took some time to figure out to speed up some when making my wide turns to go back. Went through a can of dip that 1st time with all the mistakes learned
I sure like these line counter reels with clickers.
The terms have nothing to do with rod direction and more to do with line out and depth reached. Pulling is a lot of line out to get deep or even a short line out (25 foot) to achieve a shallower depth, rods can be at the back or off the side or both. Pushing is more about FORCING the bait to the depth you want using from a 2oz to a 5oz weight ahead of the crank, way more depth control, especially shallow and deep depths can be reached a lot easier (30 feet out put you at 20 feet deep with a 3oz weight at 1.8mph). Pushing can be done out the front but it puts a lot of pressure on the poles, also can be done from the side or even off the back. I found out pretty quick that rod separation was more of an issue pushing than it is pulling when landing a fish, at least the way I pull.

I used the "pull and count" line out method. I have some good 5500Cs from my bass days. I have some good 6 foot poles, and that should work. I don't need to invest in a lot of aggravation. I have Brenda that fills the ticket.
I got into some catfish and drum which made a mess and didnt help my patience gauge.
I did try my 6 inch jig planer boards. They now work fine after I glued some styrofoam (Billbob recommendation and his foam too) on the backs. I did catch fish using the boards with the jigs, mostly tater chips though.
Was not happy with the touch 7 sunlight view. Sucked in fact! I switched to grayscale so I could at least see stuff.
I ain't quitting. Just aggravated.
