Adam, I know that you are well versed in the operation a small boat from your past experiences. As a reminder, things happen faster in a small boat that a larger craft. One wave taken wrongly can either fill the boat or flip it. Also make sure you have a kill switch attached to you as it only takes a moderate size stump to bump you right out of the boat and the speed of your small motor is more than enough to propel you and any passenger into the air. Slipknot mentioned wire cutters which is good but you also need to learn or refresh your ability to remove a hook safely without having to cut it out. I' talking about using the string method but in place of a string the same can be achieved by using pliers, especially needle nose ones, to properly back out a hook.
