Be sure to go by the office and get you a sticker for your boat and trailer because not only do you have to pay to launch, you must pay for the privilege of fishing there. The stickers for your boat and trailer are good for one year. I have forgotten how much they cost, but think they are about $15.00. You used to be able to buy a sticker that included the launch fees, but you had to fish there about 20 times a year for that one to pay off. I believe it was about $65.00.
Docwaldo was heads up about the channel out in front of the beach area. I have caught lots of fish there in years past, but that channel is more crooked than a snake and is hard to stay on especially if the wind is blowing. I sunk a bunch of bamboo buckets along the west side of the channel several years ago before I moved away. Those bamboo buckets used to hold a ton of fish as they migrated from the north end of the lake to the south. The west side of the channel has a steeper dropoff than the east side and the crappie could quickly and easily move from deep to shallow and vice versa depending up where the shad were.
