I arrived at the lake before sun-up and since I don't have a spotlight I had to wait a few minutes before idling out to the channel and down to the bridge. The fish didn't start biting until around 7 anyway, but when they did turn on boy howdy did they turn on, at least for me. The Lord blessed me today for sure. I got to see a very beautiful sunrise and caught more fish than I have caught in quite some time.
I caught most of my fish between 7 and 8 and caught them about 5 foot deep in 10 feet of water on one of my hand tied black/chartreuse hair jigs. I couldn't get them to hit the grayghost early. But around 9 they tuned off of the black/chartreuse and wanted something gray. From 9 til 11 I caught them on the grayghost and on a silver head/red chenille/gray hair jig that I tie and call the bleeding minnow. I quit fishing around 11 and just sat on the lake and talked to my brother on the phone and took a few pictures.
I ended the day with 34 crappie and 10 very nice bluegills. I actually have pictures today. I took a gift given to me by a couple in our church for pastor's appreciation month and turned it into a small camera I can just leave in the boat. I know ya'll like pictures, so ENJOY THE PHOTOS.
