Planer boards.... you run the same speed you do pulling or pushing cranks.....its still the same....only difference is the boards let you get the cranks out further from the boat and you can cover a wider area thus more water with them. I usually start at 1.6 and go from there....1.8 mph seems to be the best speed for me....but there are times if the bite is slow that speeding up will help and I have caught fish a 2 mph to 2.2 mph.
