I hook them through the eye socket. I would prefer the back, but I seem to kill them like that. Lol
It is not what you do for your children, but what you have taught them to do for themselves, that will make them successful human beings.

For drop shot/spider rigs I hook through the lips because I am moving. For shallow under a cork, right under the dorsal fin below the backbone, but not too far to kill them. I like the action when twitching the cork. Some of those shiners will actually surface, then slightly pull the cork under.

You line them up and put you line in and turn the peg. Real neat. I saw them a Wal-Mart at Grenad last week end. Here is a picture. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Mr.-Crappi...Float/17200724

Sounds like something I need if I can only remember to look for them.

mermentau they look promising. Lots of times I'd like to take off a bobber when I have one on and other times I'd like to add one but I don't want to cut and retie. I solve the problem by keeping handy at least 2 rods, one with and one without but sometimes I want to fish the jig I have on another pole and thus a problem. I didn't pick any up but will next time I see some.

Exactly my situation too. I wonder if the plastic stops that I use will work. I hate messing with those stop knots.

I think they would, I use the little rubber footballs. I leave them on all the time even if I take the bobber off.

It depends on the cover for me. If I can cast I'll go with the 5.5' light tackle or with tight cover or overhanging limbs like the Buttonwoods at Larto , I'll go with a jig pole. I'll pull out a little more line and flip into the cover and hold the line with my left hand so I can quickly pull in the line and pitch again. I like to slip cork especially in heavy cover. In open and really shallow water I will go either way. I go light with a small cork and small split shot and 1/32 or 1/16oz jig....SLIP

WWW.Crappiemagnets(EZ Float)(Jeff has this one tech down) has a great Bobber system even have a video!! Bass Pro has come out with a crappiemax 8' med light spinning rod, crappiemax reel set up just for this type (bobber/jig combo) the rod has an orange tip for reaching down in cover to retrieve your jig!! The crappiemagnet(bobber)(EZFloat) is designed to hold on the line until you get your jig hung up on brush and slide down line to jig to recover your jig!! Hope this helps!!!
