Great post Markham, I've never did any such fishing or even seen any done. It is something not done down here at the bottom of the state mainly because of the lack of deep water. I do remember about 10 years back fishing while with my brother-in-law during the cold weather of Feb, he got tired of casting and just let his line drag behind the boat and caught a fish. He repeated the action 3 or 4 times and caught fish. He was using a bobber and a jig. Now I was catching off the front of the boat pitching and casting like I always did and the though of dragging lures never came to mind. Since I've joined CDC I've wondered if I have been passing up a great way to catch fish in the cold of winter down here. I'll be giving it a try soon. Thanks for the detail explanation.
