Jeremy, you might want to consider a rheostat for the variable control - it should give you a wider range. Then again, it would have to be hand contolled in that situation. The rest of the switches are no problem. Where do you live? If you're in the Lafayette area, I go to Ralph's electronics on Cameron street for such supplies. Send me a pm if you're having problems.

finally! thanks for bailin the rest of us out Randy!!
Tracker, I am in the Shreveport area, but the diagram posted earlier plus a call to the new owners of bobcat pirogues has got me pointed in the right direction. I just have to get a little spare time in the next afternoon or so to test it out. I did find out that part of my problem is how I had the momentary switch for the foot control wired. I appreciate everyone's help and comments, even the ones that had nothing to do with wiring! I will update the thread when I have a chance to work on it and what my results end up being.

Just wanted to update the thread that I got the pirogue wired up! Thanks boatstall and fishervet, your advice was helpful. Between that and some advice from a friend here locally, I managed to figure out what the problem was. Hitting Flag lake tomorrow with all systems go!
