Ok let me clarify. No one owns KY lake. I wish everyone could catch what ever they want to every time they come. I don't care who fishes where. Kentucky's side of the lake, may need a 20 limit. East Tn may need a 5 limit. Middle Tn may need a 12" limit and 50 catch limit. ALL areas are different and need different rules. Look @ deer hunting in TN.
My whole point is, the reduction to 20 will not solve the supply and demand issue, as we are not adding any supply to the fish population. Raising the limit to 11" puts more unkeepble fish in the lake. Thus a 3 - 4 year old fish will spawn better than a 1 or 2 year old fish. We now depend on the 4-5 year old classes to spawn for our future. Why not use the 5-6 year old bigger fish to that and even add a class of unkeepable fish that will also produce. Crappie become more of a meat eater type fish @ age 4 and start to add weight quicker, thus healthier and produce better spawn. They usually die age 8 -10. So we would be keeping a better quality fish and have more of them. What is wrong with that
