Finally, around 730pm last night they came and got me for surgery. Then sometime around 10pm I remember waking up in recovery. My doctor was there, standing on my left side, and I could hear him talking. I was in and out of it, but he said that the piston and crimp were replaced. Also, he drilled out the hole in the footplate to a bigger diameter. He was a little concerned as to why the bone, otosclerosis, was trying to grow over the bone and plate again.
He thought that he might kept us overnight, but the girls (16 & 13) were home alone, and littlemama said she wanted to get is home. We pulled into the driveway shortly before 1am.
It was a long, long day. Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated very much!

Well I hope you end up liking your end results as much as I have mine from when I had it done.
Of course for us "hearing impaired" anything is a improvement.
Have some dizziness, almost feels like alcohol buzz. When I look up or down with my head, dizzy kicks in and my balance isn't solid. Pain hasn't been an issue today. We are both just completely wore out from yesterday!
Doc also said not to expect any hearing until Christmas. And I don't remember this, but he said that it will be more bloody this time, as I had blood running out of my ear right before we left. It hasn't been that way today.
Littlemama took the day off, and she deserved it. Over 20 hour day is long enough for anyone.
