Tuesday night and Wednesday had been my worse days since the surgery. I encountered a new condition or sensation that really scared the piss out of me. I have not had this in either of the previous 2 surgeries, it's called nystagmus. It's a neurological twitch in the neck that simultaneously jerks your eyes one direction, then slams back into the center.
I ended up having to isolate myself to realize what caused this to happen, when, and how. If I laid on the couch and did not move, i was perfectly fine, and for over 2 hours I did not move, lean up or over by pretty much still. When I went to get up, as soon as I began to look down with my eyes and lowering my head, I could feel it loading up, and then BAM! This would continue until I settle back down.
Called the doctor, and my research was correct, that they were not overly concerned but continue to rest, if it continues for longer than a few days to call back.
Well, Thursday has been my best day thus far. The Nystagmus had stopped, the dizziness has dramatically reduced, walking down or up steps was much much easier, and I was starting to feel normal again!
Late Thursday night, we had just gone to bed and my left ear popped, and stayed open for about 20-30 seconds as I could hear the ceiling fan running. It's gonna be okay, this last surgery has taken!!
I have alot to be thankful for! My beautiful wife, the best daughter's in the world, my son being home and safe. I have made some lifelong friendships, and enjoyed the company and fellowship of several new friends from all over this great country!
The good Lord has given me a 2nd chance at hearing what goes on in this big world! I couldn't have gone through all of this without Him or my angel Jo Ann, aka littlemama! Then the words of encouragement and the prayers of all the cdc family has been overwhelming.
I am not out of the woods yet, but I keep getting closer!
