Cody is home and acting like himself, about 90%. He is on some sensitive gastro food for the next 24 to 36 hours. Besides the 9 bobby pins that he ate and then passed, he ate something outside that completely set things in motion sunday morning.
He is still healing and need to monitor for any changes. But he can rest alot better at home than cramped in a vet kennel. Just like us, we rest and feel better at home than in a hospital.
Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers!

Xrays this morning showed no further obstructions. About 4am he was feeling better and tried to make a break for it!
E.R. vet said he chewed his catheter and his I.V. out of each leg and such, and was searching the halls for a place or way out!
His enzymes count was at 4000 last night, which is why he couldn't keep anything in. He was dehydrated and just a whooped pup.
Again, thank you for all the prayers. He is our "5th" child and the baby of the family. Spoiled rotten gun dog!!

    Great news.

I lost Kutter, my 105 pound chocolate lab male, to lymphoma in 2009 at 10 1/2. I think he could have ate nails and done OK. No telling how many whole bluegills, pumpkinseeds and small crappie he stole out of my livewell and swallowed whole. He once swallowed an entire 6 inch rib bone, meat and all. I rushed him home from SE MO to my local vet who said don't sweat it unless he starts acting funny. Never had any signs of distress.

They say GOD will give all of us at least one special pet in our lifetimes. I have been blessed with several but he was without a doubt the best snow goose dog who ever lived and I miss him every day.

Hopefully Cody will make a full recovery and have several more good years with your family.

Glad to hear he's doing better. I lost my beagle almost 2 weeks ago to a tragic accident. He was only 2 years old and really in the prime of his life. Still hurting badly inside over it. My brother-in-law brought another 7 week old pup down last weekend, but we couldn't commit. It's way too soon right now. We have discussed getting a dog out of our local pound, Just don't know for now. Anyhow glad Cody is home & doing well.

Creek, I'm sorry to hear about your pup. Cody has been with me since he was 7 1/2 weeks old. Faithfully there thru my divorce, and the wife and I joke about Cody is the reason she clicked on my profile LOL!!
He is hard wired but has the heart and drive of a full litter of labs.

The good Lord gives us these special animals but only for a short time. Its almost not fair....
