Hey this is my first year trying crappie fishing. I've learned a lot from some co workers but I've also got some very good info on basic set up and what to look for. I'm still learning but I'm enjoying every minute being out chasin em!!

Slab, Yes the walk of shame. Could not find any fish. Day before marked and caught some very good fish. Tournament time as usual no fish in those spots. Very frustrating especially when someone comes in with 40 fish. That kind of hurts. No, really hurts. LOL I dreaded going to the weigh in but as in everything fishing I try to keep learning and sharing ideas. That is what crappie.com is all about to me by the way!!!!!!
I have both received and given advice on post on this site, and thru private messages. I have learned many things and new technics also. I have met some really good people. There is much to gain other than fishing reports from this site. For this site to continue to be the best crappie site new people must join. But to post anything negative or that others might consider negative in your first couple weeks will not work for you. There is a problem here and on other sites of people who take but do not give back. So all new people do not be hasty in your judgment. I have recommended this site to many friends and I tell them to get on read the post, make positive comments, post helpful information, attend the functions to meet others, approach and talk to other members you see on the lake. And then if you need help ask for it. If you start off giving then it is easier to receive. I will gladly help anyone I can if they ask or I see they need it. But I also question the motives of anyone who joins and becomes negative at the beginning. I did not take this post that way but can see where others would because of things in the past. So I would suggest you remain a member think before you post and enjoy the best crappie site on the net.
The only thing better than a day of fishing. Is a week of fishing.
I have been a member for about a year and I read the post a lot although I don't post a lot. I do know mrdux and talk to him almost everyday. He is a great person and will help anyone, but he will also give you his opinion right away. This weather has kelp most of us home for the last 6 weeks or so. I hope to get out and fish a day or two next week at Johnathon, we were catching some there before the weather changed. Just remember most of us here are good ole country boys, take the time to know us and listen. You will find lots of info and follow the purple boat. HA!HA!
