Mrdux ... please try and be a little more friendly towards new members seeking to belong to this site and looking for information. A simple answer of "it's dead right now, which is why there's a lack of reports" would have been sufficient. While those of us that have been members here for some time, or know you personally, know that you're passionate about the lake & its resources, etc. --- those that are new to the forum are probably not as informed. You certainly won't get much support or friendly exchange of information by jumping down the throats of new members innocently asking for information (positive or negative).

Crappie Mate ... to Crappie.com & the KY state forum. You should consider attending the KY Lake Shindigs, participate in the Fruit Jar Tourney Series, and even take a peek at the state forum for Tenn. in your quest for any information about K/B lakes. And while it is true that there is a serious lack of discussion during the Winter period, and not every member fishes year around (or just during the cold months, as in your case), there are members that are willing to get to know you & eventually share info ... if not become best buddies with you. We just need to get to know you, and assure ourselves that you're "one of us" and not just a lurker turned member for their own nefarious purpose. You give a little & get a little in return, until the members know you're here to make the forum a better place and not just to "steal" from the wealth of information presented.

I find it very aggravating when a new member comes on the site demanding info and blasting the site members for not meeting their demands. It's so very hard to welcome them to the group. Makes me and I see others, wonder why they're here. Some people just don't take time to fit in. They take their ball and go home saying I don't want to be a member here. I and a host of others think this is the best fishing site on the net and if you took time to get to know some of the members here, you may think so too. Now this guy will go off and bad mouth CDC and say stuff when he should be looking in the mirror at that image he presented. I hope he reconsiders leaving. There's so much to gain in staying. You leave, your loss.

I have only made it out once this fall, have a week off starting Friday and weather looks ok. Hopefully have a report or two good, bad, or ugly.

I have been a few times over the last couple of months and I know conditions have not been ideal, but come on! Even if we share about our failures there is something to be learned from that. I have not had the chance to go since joining this forum or I would have posted something of value myself. Come on folks lets do better at sharing general information.
You come on here, new to the forum, and the 1st thing you post is complaining because you aren't finding GPS coordinates for everybody's structure? You might as well be asking for those too.

When we have fishing reports, we will post them. Some of us have businesses to run and lives off the lake to live. Complaining about no fishing reports is not going to endure you to those of us who have been here for a while.

There, I said what most others wanted to.

BTW, my boat has not been wet since Sept.

Sorry i ruffled your feathers! I dont know maybe your easy. Read my post they only speak of general information! Read some of the other states forums they sure dont have the same air about them as this. I feel like with two of the best crappie lakes in the country we could be leaders if not followers when it comes to general information about the fishing. If you feel that strongly enough about my post then maybe i dont belong here, and i think there is a process for that. But you might miss out on some good info. Cuz i aint new to crappie fishin! I just feel like I can always improve myself in every way and thats what I thought I read this forum was about.

My feathers are fine! If you were as observant as you claim to be , you would know the members here post volumes of general info here when they have reports to post. Fishing is dead right now and that is being reflected in the non-reports.

There are tons of information offered by members here but that doesn't mean every person who is a member or lurker here is going to get everything they seek when they ask for info. Too many of us have been badly burned when too much info is given out on a public forum. You have zero idea how much general and SPECIFIC info is shared here on PM.

If you chose to spill your guts on a public forum, go for it. The rest of us choose otherwise. If that makes me or others bad persons, so be it.

I didn't see the OP as "innocently" asking for info. I saw it as a criticism aimed at those of us here who spend dozens of hours yearly, monthly, weekly and even daily doing our dang level best to help those who come to us and ask sincerely for assistance. You have zero idea how many folks here have called, texted, e-mailed, or stopped by my business for assistance on fishing KY Lake/Barkley and I have always been more than willing to take time out of my hectic schedule to help each and every one of them. I keep a set of both lake maps on a counter so I can point out types of areas I fish and why. I don't ask for anything in return. I have met several here on the lake and showed them spots, given them custom baits, and taken as many in my boat as I possibly could to help them learn the way I fish.

Yes, I could have been nicer in my reply. That's how I am wound. You say something to me that I take as a criticism when none is warranted, you might ought to look for it coming right back at you. I was not combative, vulgar, or threatening. Nuff said!

Sorry must agree with mrdux. I come here and review the threads, if no one is posting, so be it. Not sure why he has an expectation to find out current fishing conditions on either lake or where they may be biting, if your so concerned go hire a guide, go look at other websites who have current and normally weekly reports posted. If I have something worth posting then I will, if not you are on your own.

I fished yesterday on the south end of ky lake with no luck. Fishing is tough right now. I'm kind of new to the site been a member for a few months but any time I have needed some advice I have gotten it. This is a great site
