    I don't know Rickie but it does, also dragging them against the side will help as well not letting them get behind the boat.

    With no holes they can only fill up once. with the holes they keep collecting water. The drift socks also have a hole in the end. Trust me Rickie,I wouldn't lie to ya.

    This does kinda make sense...

    With no holes...when the bucket is full of water....all new water will go around the bucket instead of thru it...

    Had 2 buckets each with a 3" hole in the middle of the bottom of each bucket

    I put my holes in the sides at the bottom and they are 1" in diameter none in the bottom put about six or eight holes around the bottom

    then holes for the rope handle and a piece of 1" pvc across the mouth of the bucket, run the rope threw the pvc and threw the handle holes come around and tie it off forming a loop then a rope tied to that loop and back to the boat

    one bucket setup would slow my 17ft deep v boat real well
