Dwight, I did the same thing. I put Rodger's Handie Holders on both my Hi-Tec uprights.

It functions very well for holding a drink can, scent bottle, & a couple of tools (as pictured in the drawing in the link). It also has four tabs with holes for hanging baits in them, but I added some sections of Pool Noodle for that purpose.

Pappy, when I fist saw that pic, I thought he's trying to keep them from sinking if they go overboard. I was curious why they would ever go overboard as mine are rock-solid. That is a great idea since I usually end every trip with a floor full of baits I have changed out or taken off. It's not so bad with single hook jigheads but when your are trying to avoid carpet full of Bandits, it goes to a new level. I use a lot of pipe-wrap insulation with the holes already down the center and the sticky edges. I would think that would work great in that application.

All these things make fishing so much more comfortable. I use pipe foam wrap from lowe's for holding jigs hooks ect. Pool noodles look like they would work as good. Also crappiepappy congrats on man of the year as I have always enjoyed your post and information. Hope to meet someday.

    Default lowe 195 setup

This is my setup on my Lowe st195 these are hitek holders. My depthfinder is also mounted on a hiteck stand. I have 4 sets of these 2 more on back with a add- a- seat. 4 people can fish. I have 2 bases mounted on each side of boat soName: spider rig.jpg

Size: 45.9 KB I can pull also. The depth finder uses same base and has room to put a rod holder behind it so I can run 3 off the front with 12 rods. And it keeps your depth finder in the middle at rod level so both fisherman can see it without looking down.

Mrdux, i may get a chance tomorrow but i will post some pics of a couple things i did with pool noodles. I use them now also on my rod holders for holding jigs/crank baits. They work great. But i also use them for pre-rigging for cranks and for using jigs. The hooks go in and out of them easy but at the same time they hold in there good.

My HiTek set up is very similar to HBH's but I have my HB788Di on a tall RAM mount in the center so I can move the screen angle up front or let the unit all the way down to the floor for long rides or trailering. I use 6 pairs of bases from the very front to very back of my boat since my HiTeks are used for spider rigging, longline trolling, pulling and pushing cranks and anything else I might need them for like catfishing.

Mr Dux I have done the same installing several sets of bases. We use them for everything. I have a seat for the middle and 3 can cat fish out of the boat. I also added knobs on my hiteks to replace the bolts.

Same as mine. I'm afraid I won't be able to get the holders as tight as I would like using knobs. My neck injury left me with numbness and weakness in my hands most of the time. I custom built tools that have a 1/2 inch socket welded to 1" flat stock that I keep on bungee cord on the front and back holders. I know they aren't going anywhere when tightened with those.
