Default Spider Rig Set up help

I've always been a single poler, but I am wanting to set up a good spider rig system to try out. I am fishing out of a Lowe Stinger 175. What would you all recommend for holders and how to set it up. If any of you have a Stinger set up, it would be awesome to get a chance to see one so post pics if you wouldn't mind or message me and I'll come look in person. Thanks in advance for all the help. Josh

The best advise any of us can give you is to get in the boat with someone that is set up to spider rig, see what you like and what you dont.
Next is make it comfortable for you in your boat.
As far as rod holders well thats a big ole can of worms, I use SpyderLoks I got from EZ Poleholder in the Sponsor Classifieds here. I cant say they are the best but can say they are the best I have used, adjustments are easy peazy and they are solid as a rock. There are some cheaper and there are some more expesive but they are doing an awesome job on my rig.
So much becomes involved when setting up for spider rigging, place to have bait close, depth finder where you can reach it easy, place for the net, racks easy to reach but out of the way when getting in and out of the boat at the ramp.
    Good luck.

Go here and look through all the pictures. Several have spider rig set ups that are on boats similar to yours. Also check out the boat rigging thread under Mechanics board.

Like others have said, each preferancse will be different, depending on your comfort zone...for me I was pleased and comfortable with the Hi-Teks rod holders, which is sold by a sponsor here and can be ordered thru Grizzly Jig. I use B&M PST 14ft, which for me is the right combo...Whatever you decide, as long as your comfortable, having fun and catching slabs it's the right combo..Good Luck
YOU CAN'T BUY HAPPINESS...BUT YOU CAN BUY FISHING GEAR.....AND THAT'S KINDA THE SAME THING.....

Wish I was home... I have a Lowe Stinger 180w. What ever you do DON'T BUY THE Tite Lock Black Widows! They are stout but you won't have ANY PLACE to store them in that Stinger. My next set will be the Hi-Teks.

I just started spider rigging last month, was a 1 pole tightliner. I went with a guy 1 time that really knows what he is doing. I have an Alumacraft that is similar to yours. I temporarily mounted my Hi-techs on 3/4" plywood until I figured out where to mount them permanently. I even sat on a metal folding chair once until I had in my mind where to mount. Good luck.

Great Stuff guys! How about length of poles. I was thinking 2 12'ers on each side and 4 14'ers across the front?

I personally don't see any advantage to having different length poles when spider rigging if I was having to buy new poles anyway. I would buy them all the same length, either 12 or 14 footers. Go with the HiTek rod holders.

I have 4 12'ers already and will need to buy 4 more which is why I was thinking about putting 14s up front.

I swapped from 12's to 14's last yr. Best move I've made in a long time. 14's all the way.

    I want everything the same.
