    Default Sad day for me

Yesterday was tough day for me. I had to have my beautiful almost 12 year old Lab Sadee Mae put down. She had been my constant companion since she was 7 weeks old. If I was home she was with me, it didn't matter what I was doing, she kept an eye on me. Over the years I've had many Labs, but none smarter or more willing than Sadee. She will be sorely missed.

As a two year old, 92 pounds.

My cousin, a friend of ours Doc and Sadee with a few former residents, 2010.

So sorry for your loss, Justin. I went thru the same thing 4 years ago and it is still painful. Time helps heal the hurt but puppy breath helps the most.

I dread the day, mine is now 7 and more dog than I have ever had. In the woods Friday night finding a deer my brother had shot, hoping to get one more dove hunt in this last season. Wife's guard dog, will not let anything happen to her.
Sorry for your loss and I agree that puppy breath will help some.

Thanks guys. At this point I'm not sure I want to dedicate the time and effort it takes to make a pup into a good dog. In time that may change. I love puppies and act like a little boy with them, that's the reason I never had Sadee bred. I knew I'd want to keep them all.

We did the same, had Lady fixed as soon as the vet would do it. Hard to let pups go. Wish I had know what to do to train mine, she just has it, not a normal dog. Bet she's laying in her recliner rite now.

Spend 7 weeks cleaning up after them, watching over them, celebrating their new accomplishments, and loving each and every one of them--you will be proud to see them go to new, loving homes. We have been lucky to be able to get good prices for our pups so we didn't have to worry about them going to homes where they would be abused or neglected. Watching them grow into adults who carry on the legacy of their ancestors makes it special. Being able to hunt with several of them yearly is priceless.

We raised 38 out of 39 pups born in 4 litters over the last 5 years. It was worth every minute of the work.
