Good luck, hope you can put them on some fish.
I've got a bunch of PVC pipe jigs. I brought them up here yesterday to tune up and sharpen hooks.

Below Kentucky has been pretty good for striper the last few days with the better generation. 4 - 6 inch live shad has been the best on KY bumping a 3 way with 3 oz. sinker in the afternoon. Getting good bait has been the key. Some are doing OK with x-large minnows. My neighbor Smoothie is the best catfisherman in the area and I will ask him tomorrow what has been good on the catfish. If you need a Striper guide Jimmy Doom has them dialed in right now.
Thought about the stripers but didn't know how well the boys would do with the bottom bouncing. Wouldn't be near as much lake lice to deal with though.

I need to get all 3 of my hairs cut so I might stop in there. :D

This time of year they should be up shallow, no more than 8 foot deep or so. Fish some kind of rocks, be it rip rap, or some broken chunk rock.

Some big night crawlers or some chicken liver with garlic salt added to it should do the trick. I would fish maybe 5 to 6 foot under a slip bobber with a good sharp circle hook. Instruct the young men no to set the hook immediatley if the bobber goes under but to let the fish move off about 5 feet with the bait. Then real and apply pressure with the rod.

    Filet and fry em up.

The canal is good spot to drift through fishing the rip rap. The area around the Barkley State Park ramp is good too. Those rip rap surrounded islands should produce late afternoon into the evening and first light.
