Now lets move on to entitlement. Why is it termed an entitlement for me and my old cronies to expect the Government to live up to their role. Does tradition and integrity go out the door for us because of our baby boomer status. Do we need a gazillion lawyers to interpret every single things that arises? Are there some things in life that just go without saying? Why is it not an entitlement for your children to fish for free? Why is it not an entitlement that thousands of my dollars go to make sure your children have a good school to attend. Why do I have to pay so your children are entitled to a college supported by my tax dollars. This list could go on and on. My point is why are we the baby boomers being labeled as entitled. Perhaps we are the only generation left that has followed our forefathers thinking of take care of those who went before you and of those who come after you but do not go forth blindly. Dan why is it not an entitlement to give our disabled vets a free fishing license? It is an entitlement!! My generation doesn't ask why because it is tradition, and integrity leading the charge on this. For the same reasons I am not opposed to your children getting an entitlement from MY MONEY, it is the right thing to do!! I am also a Veteran of a conflict. Because the good lord looked out for me and maybe just plain dumb luck I am not disabled. Would you wish and think that it would have been okay for me to get a free license if I had been disabled? No, i thought not. All we are asking for is some facts before we dump anymore money into a broken system. Lets get some facts and then and only then lets try to reach some common ground on fixing a broken system that many of us love and don't want to see fail. You yourself have finally asked for some facts so i am assuming you are not ready to just throw some group to the wolves on unsubstantiated facts.
Well since you are already paying to raise my kids I'll just send you the bill for their college education too, so that maybe they will be smart enough to fix the corrupt sytem you baby boomers broke

65 and older are not entitled to fish free but that has been in place a very long time and many people have benefited by this practice. Now just because there are a few more folks 65 and older we are going to loose this benefit. It is the same as any government agency a money grab they no they can do it and they will do it no matter what. Just run over all the tax payers they do not matter just get the money.
MAybe those hikers don't like the fact that some of the money they spend to use the park goes to those scoundrels that fish, they would probably rather the state build more hiking trails! As I understand it, it's a "we are all in this together deal". The fisherfolks probably get a little of the hikers money as well as the campers money too!

Since our goal is to be rid of entitlements, I need you to go tell that ole politician you don't want me payin no more entitlements for your kids education!! I'm going to be right behind you in line and tell him that since i no longer have to pay for that entitlement I'm ready to take my thousands of dollars back and since I want to help ole Nexter Dan out I'm willing to pay a hundred bucks a year for the rest of my life to fish in Kansas!! Oh Mr. Politician could I get that in writing please, so I have something to show Ole Nexter Dan when he tries to change the game on me in a year or two sorry I don't accept tradition or plain ole unwritten assumed responsibility to live up to your integrity!!! Don't worry Ole Nexter Dan and his Generation X kids will solve it all, I hear all you have to do is ask and they will toss you money hand over fist to fix all this stuff us Baby Boomers have screwed up!!! No need for transparency or justifacation or integrity, Just ask em they'll give it to you!!!!!!

Thought I was the only one interested in those KDWP fish feeders. Good to see someone else join me on the dark side about fishing those feeders.

I'm just shocked at the amount of post's suggesting we take it back from our elders.I feel they do a lot to help the sport.I know they spend a lot of time, money, and effort on kids fishing derbies and such. Not to mention the many other things they do on there time and dime for the community. At least I see this going on in the small town I live in.I hope this goes on everywhere.I read a post where a fellow CDC member helped put a grandpa and his grandkids on fish.I think that is great. We need this in our sport. We need grandpa's getting them out on the water and introducing the kids to fishing.I'm pretty sure this will bring out the report about what everyone else does to support this sport and I want to thank everyone for what they do.But at the age of 16 to 65, isn't that what we should be doing? Our elders did for us.Let's not take away something we said we would gift them.I hope gift is a better word to use than entitled.I still want to say IMO I believe they earned it and are entitled to it.OK I'll shut up now.

Hold up ya old Fart! I'm not that far behind you and I've been paying all you have for about as long as you have, Soon I'll be be paying for your depends and snotrags along with your medicare. So I'm doing my part for your retirement

As we all now know the lisence count is where the state can get the easiest and probably most amount of monies for our outdoor enjoyment. The thing to do if what most seem to think is the case, is to get the 65+ crowd verified lisences with the Fed monies to be harvested. Since you at your advanced age are wiser and more knowing than I am(by 10yrs.), I have challenge for you.Find me a REAL, HONEST politician that actually gives a crap about you, me, my kids and your grandkids that will sit down and listen to what I have to say. If you can do that, I'll round up as many outdoors folks as possible to suggest to them to provide a $5 LIFETIME license to all of the 65+ crowd so that the state will be able to get the Fed. monies and it won't break you old ENTITLED farts!

    Can you pull that off?
