Is it a doll fly?
It is an old doll fly, I found it going thru one of my dad's old tackle boxes that i got recently. I think he used it in the early 70's. He gave me one & I lost mine but as you can see it has been used hard.
JW my dad caught loads of Ute lake & conchas crappie with them.
Roger got my son started tying yesterday so he is going to try to duplicate it, shouldn't be hard it is about as simple of a jig as there could be.

I remember those old doll fly jigs. Elmer "doll" Thompson out of East Tenn. I used a bunch of them when I was a kid. I grew up in Central KY. The first ones was with polar bear hair and then they made some for sand bass with nylon bristles. His first ones came out in '52. There was not a single bait shop, hardware store, or boat dock that did not have a lot of cards of doll flys. He always called it the Doll Fly but of course it was a jig... Still have some of the originals and would not use one for anything. It was a very simple jig but was a fish catcher. Yellow and white were the biggest sellers...some black.
I have quite a few of them, Got them from a good friend that passed, That man could fish for sure. I will not use mine either.
Sorry about the quality of the picture, I should have used something other than a white background. It is actually just a pink lead head (with the paint mostly worn off) with an off white tail tied directly behind the head.
This old jig was very dirty from hard use & as you can see is well worn.
