I remember those old doll fly jigs. Elmer "doll" Thompson out of East Tenn. I used a bunch of them when I was a kid. I grew up in Central KY. The first ones was with polar bear hair and then they made some for sand bass with nylon bristles. His first ones came out in '52. There was not a single bait shop, hardware store, or boat dock that did not have a lot of cards of doll flys. He always called it the Doll Fly but of course it was a jig... Still have some of the originals and would not use one for anything. It was a very simple jig but was a fish catcher. Yellow and white were the biggest sellers...some black.
