They do not last like they used to so I’m in the process of getting rid of about 100 pack that I purchased over the last 2-3 years been using a local made bait the last couple years that is much longer lasting and catches as many or more fish and is half the price.
This my only complaint with Bobby Garlands baby shad. For years I fished nothing but tubes and curly tails, then a friend turned me on to BG and later Crappie Magnets. Now for the most part it's all that is in my boat aside from a box of hair jigs. I'm not very good at tying jigs but the crappie don't seem to care. In the last couple years I've caught nearly as many fish on my hair/feather jigs as I Have the Bobby Garlands.

As far as color goes, in my experience it seems that our crappies preference changes every year or two. In the same conditions I have a color that I caught a lot of fish on in the winter months for a couple years, don't know that I caught a fish on it this winter. To be honest due to a lot of factors out of my control I'd didn't get to fish much either, so there is that too.

BTW, if you like the BG baby shad BPS sells one that I can't tell the difference between the two. A lot of the same colors, same amount in the bag and they feel and last the same, . They usually run them on sale pretty cheap early every spring.
