What thread to use

Mono is used for tying a good bit. Danville has a good Purple in 210 Fly Master Plus. I sell a good bit of it. Danville and other thread making people also sell mono on thread spools. I use it at times and on some flies it will adding letting color through once the Glue is applied.

What is the mono used equal to if we were to use some? 2# maybe? I'm sure it's not the same stuff is it?
