Your welcome mifon and I bet your going to love the longer hackles. You get so much more usable stuff. Hey also I have not done it a lot, but if you leave just maybe half of one V on the but end of the feather you can actually then cut it off with some of the fluff and make that a tail too. If you look at some of the Slab Daddy Jigs I have seen them do this as well. I first did that years ago and so I save every part of the feather unless it's just not enough left for even a fly.

I have been trying to tie some jigs that look like gizzard shad. If any one ties jigs that looks like a gizzard shad I would like to see some pictures of them.
    Thanks, Aaron

Are you looking for something with Silver sides? I do some with silver heads and sides, but then what are you looking for in a tail?
here is one with a blue tail that I really like in clear water.

Ok thanks, I have just figured out when people talk about buck tail and rabbit they are actually talking about the part of an animal. Forgive me, I am new and not so enlightened yet. However I can be taught. So what exactly is a marabou?

Marabou is a feather that the entire thing looks like what most throw away on hackle. It mostly come from turkeys. These Roadrunners have marabou tails. The best way to use it is to pull off all the barbules from the stem, stack what you need and cut the end where you pulled it off to length and tie it in. Some will leave the stem in, but it has more action without it. Actually there is nothing that has more or better action than marabou. When in the water it almost looks like it's swimming!
