Just don't like to get crap for my money an if it takes being a pain in the ass to fix it that's okay with me, and if I can pass the info on to help someone else it's kind of a thanks for all the help I've received, pay it back/forward!!!
I buy mine through Shorty's hook sales...they said send them back and they would replace!

If you send them back what are they going to do with them???? Sell them to the next poor jigman or woman that wants to make something to help him or her and their buddies build up fillets for the winter????????Once they hit the mail you have nothing to barter with. All they have to do is say, what hooks????? Then there you are...no hooks...no cash...and a empty hook bin...plus I have heard from several people that shorty's was (not) going to replace them...so someone is lying somewhere's....not saying you are LB56....that's like a phone call I was suppose to get last Tuesday evening from one of the head guys at the company...have wore out 3 pairs of shoes going back and forth to the phone waiting on that call. You guys do what you want too...but all I am saying is that once you send them back you have nothing left to bargin' with and mercy knows they would not (LIE) to you..I have got 8000+ black chrome here they I would not give a cat to play with...be afraid some of the pieces would fly in his eyes....just sayin' as I jump down off my the soapbox....

It is clear we need to spread the word even more than it has been. It's not enough of they would fo something. If need be we made these darn hooks popular and I had much to do with that showing them all over the place. Maybe we just need to do the reverse and make sure everyone knows if you buy any sickle hooks your risking your reputation because of shoddy products!. Maybe all of should post on the state boards and let all know what this is about!
They won't get these back until I get the replacements and they will be checked right away and if they're crap they'll get emailed again and the BBB complaint and IC3 complaints filed - fraud on the internet is a crime and I'm in a really shi$$y mood anyway so I'll be glad to play that route.
I've checked all my #6 black chromes and 750 of the #2's and had no breaks - so I'm good there. Got hung with a couple of the #2's this weekend and got em back fine with no breaks. I made the suggestion that they put the manufactured date on the lables of the box!! Don't know if that one will ever happen.
Once I get the 4's and test them they'll be my last!!! I'll probably switch to the VMC black chromes. But I still have 8000 old stock Mustads from the late 80's early 90's!! and a bunch of old EC's. I've never had one problem with them, well except for getting stuck in a really hard tree and not getting it back!!!LOL
One thing I noticed with the 4's that I poured before I melted the lead back off is that every single head was loose!!! That to me spells bad tempering and why the lead won't stick. The 2's and 6's not a single loose head. Something to watch for.
I also have their FedEx number to mail the bad ones' back. If Shorty's ACTUALLY says they'll replace 'ASK WHEN THEY GOT THE REPLACEMENT HOOKS IN"!!!! but!! I'd rather Matzuo replaced them, I imagine Shorty's/Capt Hooks has a bunch they have to get replaced also!!!
Could always spray paint them white or whatever they'd have a hard time re-selling those!!!
Well they better hurry or when I get low on any size jig head I will be going to a different hook and just forget about them. If some customers still want them and I don't have any then so be it. I plan on cutting back as it is a good bit. I want to tie more for my self and do some things I don't get to do now just because I am always tying for others.
Ok guys, so I only have 2000 sickles..( that's 50.00 worth) not 8000 Grousefly I understand...I love this site and the people here my earlier comments weren't meant to tick anyone off.... I don't sell enough jigs to even pay for what I'm stuck with...here's the issue...and I'm part of the problem just a Skip has said we...meaning ME have sold everybody that these are the BEST!!! You loose less fish sharpest hook on the market...and now the hook falls apart...now what do we do????Guess I'm going to a different hook??? who's...the whole Idea of the odd shaped hook the nasty sharpness and then go back to round bend???this hurts bad!!!! I for one will be in a small holding pattern to see how this all pans out... and will they stand good for their product...later LB PS just got off the phone with my supplier...they are standing good for my unused portion of 1000 ct. boxes of hooks they will mail me back a new batch, they randomly pulled hooks out of these new boxes and tried to break, and didn't break...this is what I'm doing...mailing them back.

liftbite I am also in a holding pattern, but this is my 2nd time with this rodeo. Several years back it was Bronze #4 and I bet I broke 50 of them while tying the darn things. Now when you start breaking a #4 hook with 210 denier thread, that is pitiful. I love the hooks when they stop screwing them up with their bad QC on heat treating and right now I will wait and see, but if they don't do something I will me major hot under the collar.
SO I am with you so far, but darn when I first started showing these hook here on this site something like 6 to 7 years ago, I really sold them hard because of how sharp they are and how great the hook up is, but they have to get their collective stuff together!
