My first attempt

This is my first tye and it came out better than I expected, the only thing that really bothers me is the place ment of the flash, its only on the one side. Please comment and give me tips or critisism. I am proud of it for a first try and hopefully will get better but I want people to be honest with their opinoins.

Good looking Jig. I would definately use it. I have days where they only bit the Blue and Chart.

Mike .... I'm no jig tyer, so this is from the perspective of a outsider viewer : If I saw those jigs on a card or in a bag, with a national brand name label ... I'd never guess they were "homemade". They look very professionally done.
They do look to have a slightly longer "tail" than I prefer, but that's OK ... since it allows the person to trim it down, or not, according to their preference.
I wouldn't beat myself up over the flash not being "centered", either. When the jig is in the water, all of the tail material is going to trail behind in a bunch ... so the flash is still going to be visible.

You've got the knack for tying those are fine lookin jigs,it looks like those were made by someone with alot of experience.....where did you get the stand they're in?

The stand is a hackle plier , I think. Good looking jigs, and the flash will do fine. If you have a rotating vise, it gives you the chance to correct it at the proper time by rotating for a full view. Black and yellow looks extra good.

blackand yellow is my favorite verigated to work with..And that barred feathers are great also...Just ordered 1 of each color of what crazy angler offers...Tied up some nice trout fly jigs as i call them..Me and a buddy of mine are into tying trout flies on small 1/80-1/64 oz heads. We got some nice ones.!!!

Good looking jigs Mike. To correct the flash twisting problem try bringing the thread around the hook and pulling up to tighten it instead of pulling it down once you cross the hook. You could also add a drop of Sally's or whatever glue you use once you tie in the flash to help hold it down. Keep up the good work.
