I am trying to tie some simple marabou jigs, and I have been, so far, an epic fail. I have watched the youtube vids, read as much as I can. They just do not look very good. First, I do not know how much marabou to use. I love the look of fat bodied chenille jigs, I would love to know how to achieve that look. Any advice? I will try to take pics of the jigs I tie to have you all evaluate me. Thanks

yes post some pics so everyone can see whats going on.im no expert at the bou but theres plenty of guys on here that can help out
well...its gonna take more than a couple of tries to make perfect looking jigs so dont get discuraged. for a fat body jig, just make more than one pass of chenille on the body. as for the bou, its all about preferance, some people like very little because you have a better hook up ratio than alot, but then the jig doesnt look as natural. so try a few out and see what works for you! Good Luck!
if you want a fat body just double wrap the chenille. Thats what i do if you using the medium. A buddy of mine uses large chenille to achieve it
Hey miller just started tying a month ago but i think i know what im doing.if your tying for winter fishing only use 10 or so hairs and make the tail short. if you ever want to get together let me know.ive been tying all flashaboo tails the fish at jacomo love it.the lady at BP in the fly department was a big help when i started.havent seen you at the docks lately dont let work get in the way of your crappie fishing.
Thanks for the help guys!! I will post some pics later. I know that it will take practice but I just want to know the right way to do it. Thanks again!

When you post your jig pictures I am sure you will receive a ton of advice. There are some basic jig tying thread stickies at the top of this forum. Consider looking at them too. There is also a thread completely dedicated to photos of jigs to give you ideas.
