Has anyone ever tested the "shrinkage" phenomena? I read a thread a while back where it was stated that the fish could end up shorter if measured later....especially if thrown on ice.

Another question ..... is if for certain that..... in ILLINOIS.... The only thing that matters is the total number of fish kept ... Not who caught them?

No, you can only legally catch your daily limit. That's why it's called a daily limit

I was told by a game warden that you have to keep your catches separate. if we fisherpersons had integrity like our 2 president candidates we wouldn't ever get tickets.

They may be able to solve the deficit shortfall if they start enforcing this .... Sounds like most guides aren't doing it this way.

Just called the dnr, you don't have to keep fish separate in illinois, but once you have your limit you can't keep anymore fish for your buddies or clients. You can still fish, just can't keep them or you can't cull them either

Im curious why you keep saying most "guides" aren't doing it this way? It's very frustrating to me that people are using scapegoats by saying they don't even catch limits or change the subject when asked if they too help catch a boat limit. This is the last I'll post on this thread but think of your integrity and morals real hard (as previously mentioned) because I'm betting their ain't a person in this board (minus local16 apparently) that if the opportunity presented itself would even think they should/legally need to stop keeping fish once their personal limit is reached, but not the boats limit.

Sorry your taking this so personally.....It's just that the guides and their clients are probably the ones facing this situation the most and will probably be under the most scrutiny by the conservation officers....They have already demonstrated that.

Once you have 5 10 inch fish in your livewell you cant put in a bigger one and throw one back or you would have to count that as 6 fish. I looked up the regs on snagging and it looks like you can only snag certain times of the year and this isn't the time of year that you can. I'm not sure on the snag regs but that's the way I read it. It may not seem like much about releasing the buffalo or keeping it as there are a lot or them in the lake, but the laws are set up for everywhere and there are people that make there living catching them commercially so we have to respect that.

I jaxsprat do not fully know snagging rules, but have read in Outdoor news where guys on Illinois river have got tickets for snagging Asian Carp out of season, so yes there is a season.
