Looks like a trip to Shelbyville might be fun. Rend is almost 2 1/2' high and nothing but dinks the other day. Several fishing did not see much catching though.

Hey everyone... Haven't posted in a while so I thought I would start this fall as the crappie bite picks up. We finely got rid of the minner buckets the last two trips. We used jigs and had real good luck swimming them over deep brush. It was great to feel the thump. So if you like to cast instead of jig fish your time is here. We tried a jig under a cork with not much luck. They just want it moving a little faster than the cork will allow. We used our lake Shelbyville killer jigs with our shad body baits. pearl and blue with a black head work the best. Water temps or in the low 70's. So kick the minner bucket out of the boat and get ready for a great fall. I still have some opening's in late Oct. some in Nov. With some weekends still open...enjoy

Thanks for the report Ken. I was wondering about that cause up until Monday I was knocking the socks off of them using minners and yesterday couldn't buy a bite. How deep are they is the only question I got?
That type of fishing is right up Pam's alley!!!! Way to go Ken!
Pat they are still on a STRONG minnow bite but a lot of them are straight burried in the brush. I was fishing big brush south Wednesday catching them 15-17ft deep over 18-20fow...No offense ken, but I would definitely say the fall bite is not here yet. When you can tightline them consistently then it's here. The fishing right now to me is the toughest of the year. Were in a transition period as well as the lake turning over in a lot of parts. You can catch em on jigs right now but I would lay down a strong bet that minners out do jigs without a question still. None the less, good job ugly.
Didn't get to fish yesterday Pat. We had to redeem ourselves at Tuscola yesterday from the butt kicking we got Friday on the football field. (Your going to have those days) We won the Tuscola envite with our cross country team. It was a close race but the Rams pulled it off in the end. As far as the fishing goes it may change day by day. But for us it was the jig out fishing the minnows. We had our limits by 9:00 Am. some days and one day we had it by 8:15 am. I don't know were you buy your minnows at but by the time I mess with getting them and getting them in the boat in both minnow buckets we could be done. Maybe you need to look somewhere the fish might hit a jig better.. just saying. The fall bite is on!!
I have to agree with Fishfryed. I had 14 overs in 14 pitches of a jig and tube under a cork in a brush pile in 3 foot of water Friday. This should be a great fall for big fish as well. I've picked up more 13 inch + fish then I've seen in a long time. The best fishing of the year is yet to come. Enjoy
Thanks for the backup local16..I didn't think we were the only one using jigs. Not once did we say what lake we were fishing though I did say what jigs we were using. Glad you had a good outing on lake XXX. Don't want to give out to much info. the floatilla will be on your favorite spot! Good thread on lurkers on main form you might what to read before you post to much info. PM's help but Slab has some good ideas on this subject that he has done on other sites.
YEP!
Must just depend on what area you are fishing. Even if I get a limit, I have a hard time telling myself the fall bite is on. Unless the water temp is below 72. Nice catch Ken.
I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin' and hook up with them later.
