As for a rod transport system, i have a Driftmaster setup on my other boat which works fine.
But again, at Okeechobee most just use their rod holders on the pontoon boat for transporting rods.
My new Jon boat is only 14’ long, so rod storage with long rods can be an issue without breaking them down.
In this area the lakes are all shallow, 10’ is about as deep as you find in most of them.
Some of the most successful I’ve seen here are the locals with old and very minimal equipment.
Leaders of different lengths can be made up and stored on sections of foam pool noodles.
Then attached to telescopic rods and changed out quickly if necessary.
I have a rack on the new boat that holds 20 of them, and don’t laugh, because they work just fine.
We tend to pay most attention to those having the nicest rigs, but that’s not always smart.
