Default Whens the bite supposed to pick up? Or has it?

As I've said before I'm an amateur, I used to longline behind the boat with my grandpa years back, and now I have my own boat and I haven't been having much luck trolling like we used too. It's usually because of the day's I'm forced to go on because of school usually a Saturday. I went to Sinclair last Monday and we caught two crappie and one catfish, we fished rooty creek and the hot water cove. I went today (Saturday) and fished Nancy branch and we caught 3 crappie, (it was terribly windy). So far my attempts have been futile, mostly due to the weather I hope, I've been fishing 1/16 jig heads on acid rain, lemon merang, Popsicle and a few other colors. We must be doing something wrong, like the wrong spots, wrong colors wrong something? Or has the bite just not picked up yet? Any pointers or specific locations on Sinclair would be helpful. Thanks guys!

I know nothing about the lake but the bite never stops. 365 days a year some crappie somewhere on the lake eat to survive..all you have to do is be there on the right spot, at the right time, with the right color or type bait, at the right depth, with the right presentation..Bingo! now that's funny right there..
i'm catching on creek channel ledges some days and deep flats with stumps/brush using live bait. I have not caught a crappie in less than 20 FOW unless I was shooting a dock without much luck yet..My lake is deep so 20' isn't that deep. hardly ever do I fish less than 12-15 fow even in spawn unless casting. I have also caught some the past 2 weeks draggin dbl baits like wildcat. Water is stained so I stay away from light colors like acid rain but have caught my first 2 crappie here with pink/chart. Just keep fishin young man. nothing beats time on the water.. Google, google, google and use the search on this site. I'm still trying to learn how every day, every trip, every night. Sonar/gps helps 100% so get the best you can afford

On the hill the crappie are moving out of the 25' water moving up onto flats in the 15'-17' range. The bit hasnt been fast and furious but I have been managing near limits. All I do is longline as that's my favorite way to catch 'em. You wont catch 'em everywhere there is water 15' deep. You gotta find 'em first.

Smitty is right. They bite 365/24/87.

Lotta luck but you have got to be there when they feed.

They will always bite but the answer I believe you are looking for is early April.
In April if it even looks close to a minnow it is getting bit.
