Thanks flycaster for posting this topic.

Coming from an outsider, I would love to see another Slabfest at Crescent in January. We have a house rented the 10-19 of Jan on Crescent and it would be great to be there for a Slabfest as great as last years was.

Dec 14 is FCC classic at Crescent for those who fish it

Before I comment, what is a fruit jar??
The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"

Huntinslabs will announce a "fruit jar" tournament and location then everyone shows up and antes up $1 or $5 or $10 or whatever amount and fish. When everyone comes in they weigh the catch 5 or 7 and the top three positions split the ante 50% 30% 20%. Something along those lines. I'm sure huntinslabs will be able to give a better description. Several other states hold them also.

I think "Fruit Jars" are only permitted on Talquin...Looks like that may be the only way to get Huntinslabs up there

Getting back to the original topic of this thread, I have a question... Would the Super Slabfest 2at Talquin in November be considered one of yalls Slabfests? I don't see a thing wrong with that and I know some of yall will be coming up for it anyway and by kicking it around for a month or so, folks would still have 6 months or so to plan for it. We have it planned for November 9. The FL board mainly has 2 groups on here...The Monroe Bunch and The Talquin Bunch. It would be nice to see some other bunches get in here with us and all crappie.com members are always welcome to any of these Slabfests. I felt like adding that comment for some of those members that don't get the opportunity to fish the same lakes we fish to know that they are welcome to join in with us on any lake at any event...Either way yall do it, I am looking forward to seeing yall at Talquin in November and hope things work out for a Slabfest at Crescent in January during the 2 weekends I plan on being there.

Well not just me but anyone who wants to throw one somewhere. Just another reason to fish!
