    RedneckOutdoors;
    Indeed it is a bit late, the spawn is over, you'll be lucky to find a speck around these parts, BUT, as you can see, some of these guys are still catching em.
    Myself, from experience, I give up after the spawn cause I get up, load the boat, travel 20 miles, then don't get a single one, so, I only fish for em in the fall/winter
    and till the spawn is over (March/April).
    I love my catfish though ! !
    However, I need to get out there and crank my boat up, cause I ain't had her out in a couple months now.
    Just get out and try your luck, but, if ya don't do any good, just wait till cool weather returns, they'll be back, etc.....

    Specks feed year round therefore they can be caught year round. granted its easier to catch them when the are spawning but its in these lean months you practice and refine your techniques and realize what all those pro's are talking about when it comes to boat control, presentation, and the other little things.
    I aint here to tell you anything. You want to know what Im doing....pm me and meet me on the lake.

    Some up us hunt them year-round.............they don't quit eating because of spawn
    time of year................guarantee they are there..............

    Florida Crappie Club has 20 tournaments a year devoted to Crappie fishing only..............

    Mr. Crappie is a very elusive fish.........tougher to catch than a bass any time of the
    year.......becomes a real challenge, but can & does happen.......

    Glad to see you are interested in prusing this fish...........the chase and catch is worth
    your time - the figuring out and thoughts involved makes it all worth while..........

    have fun, welcome aboard.......................
