My in-laws live at small retirement community in Florida, with nice size little pond scattered about. they are all linked together and to river also. So occasionally alligators come up in them. I'm not leting My kids get with 5-10 foot of the bank so I have to cast for them. So they are fishing for bluegills, when 3 foot or so gator swims up to floater and managed to hook him self in the tail. He's fishing with a walmart special that comes 4 lb cheap line and little gold #6 hooks, so I knew wasn't be a problem for us. hooked straighten and he swam away. I thought great now that over we can get back to fishing. stupid gator comes back and my little girl starts reeling he line in and the stupid thin crunched the floater.
