Hey Joby, man - I appreciate the help, but you ain't talkin about for the
interference kit, are ya? I got all that, chokes on tm and power cables,
ferrite rings, etc. If it's something else tho, I'm game for calling.
Just would like to know what specifically to ask about.

Don't mean to always be griping, just trying to share info and learn from
others how to get the best out of these toys...

Anyway, I need to put some more time in on it, but what mine does is:
Anytime the 200 beam AND the tm are on, I get a screen painted SOLID with
blue/green. Not the little blue grass spikes I was fighting before.
Surface clutter, sensitivity, noise filters don't seem to have any effect on it.
But as soon as I cut back to the 83 beam, it goes away, and I get a pretty
decent picture. I'll work on it some more this wkend, I hope.
I swear I think a lot of this is that stinkin' built in transducer, but won't know
for sure till I try a different one.

That plus seems like I am showing fish below the bottom of the lake. And depth reading has been screwed up since the last update. Also, last trip out the 997 mounted on the transom has been fine, but the water temp was reading -2 F. First time that has happened.

UTFAN- I had to send my 787(front finder) back. We updated it with Version 4.48 which came from HB. Richard Williams looked at it and said it was fine but i know for sure there is not a spot on KY Lake that is 1267 ft deep. Our display is messed up and with tvg off it is solid red & blue from top to bottom. Our 997 was messing up until richard updated with his card. I will know the verdict tommorrow of it from Eddie Kenddrick. I will report on it. We had solid blue line across at 3 ft deep and would loose bottom quick or have light blue(weak) returns.

yeah, forgot to mention till I saw DTG's post - it does "flicker" and lose
    bottom, this is 787 - front - us2 - tvg off - 83 beam only
not a biggie, it only flickers, never loses it completely, but it didn't do this
    before.

I'm with you on the help from Jody. But my problem since I upgrade is noise from the big motor. Never had that before the upgrade?? Could it be everyone else is going Microsoft?? Just sent it out, we will fix the problems when they find them???

I am getting my 798c in the mail today. Let the leaning curve begin.
"Smiles don't leave a lake without one."
"White Perch the other white meat."
"CK the Official Tester of floating nets".
