    Default SD micro card

Do I have any choices on the card that I put in a Garmin hand held? They show one on the Garmin website, inland lakes I think. Is there anybody else that makes a card that's compatible that's any better?

A few months ago, when i bought my Garmin handheld, i could find no other MICRO sd cards other than what Garmin sold. Plenty of standard sd cards, but no micros. i bought the inland lakes micro and then sent it back after finding i could not upload the maps to my computer. waypoints and routes, yes, but not the maps themselves. they sent me the inland lakes CD which i installed on the computer and then transfered what maps i wanted to the handheld. now i have detailed maps on both. you can buy larger micro sd cards, i got one on the net for about $25 which has 1 gig memory. hope this helps. jm

Can I buy the inland lakes sdcard and Cd from Garmin and be in good shape, or would I be better off to just get the cd from Garmin and look for an SD micro card on the net? (You can probably tell I don't know much about this stuff yet.) I've also heard of navionics and fishing hot spot maps. Do those go on your computer ?and will they work with a Garmin? Thanks for your help.

Navionics and hot spots will not work with Garmin. You have to buy Garmin maps...unfortunately.

I just bought the inland lakes CD and down loaded it to the computer, then bought a blank micro SD card at Walmart and download the area of the country that you want on the GPS.
