Just out of curiosity I ran a ground from the metal strap holding the transducer on the trolling motor to the HB ground. It cut out about half the interference even though it was not wired tight.
It sounds like you may have grounded the foot of the trolling motor when you did that. Check that trolling motor fuse with a meter, not just visually as it should be in the internal trolling motor wiring to ground the foot of the trolling motor. You should tell the Humminbird CS folks this so that they can tell the Minn Kota folks this (they may be working with them to find your trolling motor interference solution).
No apology needed, you did well by trying the other fuse. Call the Humminbird Customer Service folks, they have access to more information on trolling motor interference then I do.
Some interference issues are caused by Bleed back thru a multi-bank battery charger ...
If you have the electronics battery hooked to a charger that is also connected to another battery ... Dis-connect the electronics battery as a stand alone battery and test for interference ...

Received a 2887313 ferrite bead from HB with instructions..."remove the two motor side plates and control board cover to expose the main control board. Locate and disconnect the red motor positive and black motor negative wires (red and black coil wires).....I'm understanding this to mean to take off the "minn kota" covers on the both sides of the motor and get to the coil wires down there where they leave the motor instead of up in the trolling motor head. Right?
