    Default Interference

I know this has been spoken of before but I find myself needing a solution. 798 on the bow, TD on the TM and I get white interference on SI and DI when the TM is running. I have a doughnut looking choke that I have wrapped the TD wire thru about 4 times and ran out of room for the plug to go thru any more, might be able to go once more if it was warm and more supple. No change in interference at all. I'm at a loss, someone please point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

How far apart are the power cords for the TM and the FF? Try to separate them as much as possible, if they have to cross, go at a 90* if all possible, could try "folding" the excess TD cable if any instead of rolling it up or rolling it up if already folded when stored.
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

Power cords are separated, even feed for front console isn't near. I could try rolling the TD cord though. TM mount for the TD is in a past post of mine, I believe it isn't much different from many already in use. Power cord has choke in it.

    RFI/EFI can infiltrate several places ...Xducer/xducer cable/power cable/head unit...:

    Diagnose first ...

*Remove the xducer and cable from the TM ...completely
*Hang xducer in the water away from the TM ...
    *Power on TM ...

If interference goes away - infiltration is thru xducer or its cabling ...
If interference is still present - infiltration is somewhere else ...

Confirm ... While xducer is hanging in water and TM powered on ...move xducer closer to TM ...

If interference shows back up - infiltration is definitely thru xducer or it's cabling ...
    ----
    ---
This gives a path forward to start tracing in the xducer path or the power path ...

I wrapped my trolling motor power cord around a couple of chokes, worked for me.

Had a buddy this past summer with rfi troubles. Long story short, the pathway was thru 3 bank charger. I'm no expert on this, just giving another possible point of entry!
