QUOTING Doug...:
I was informed that you could collect the data on any SD card or you could use the Zero Line LM Card to collect data then import into the Computer but you have to export to the Zero Line Card that comes with the AutoChart Package and to display map on Humminbird the map must be on the ZeroLine Card that comes with Auto Charts.
And this ...:
If you want to share with friends you can share the data too. For example 5 Boats go to Canada fishing trip all 5 record sonar data and have one copy of AutoCharts and you can import all 5 users data and create maps instantly and then save the data to each users cards and all 5 boats would get the same LakeMaster Auto Chart. Collect more data each trip and increase the map
UNQUOTE...
These 2 comments from Doug almost seem contradictory...
He says the Zero Line Card must be used in the HB unit for the unit to display the custom mapping created in the AutoCharts program...
Then he says 5 different guys can collect recordings, run the recordings thru 1 copy of the AutoChart program ...and then all 5 guys can have the ability to display the custom map data...
I know the map data (any map data from Navionics or Lakemaster)....does not reside in the unit ...the unit merely "reads" the data from the map card...so there's no way to import the AutoChart data into the unit memory...such that the Zero Line Card could be erased and still have the previous custom map data for the HB unit...
Once the map card is erased - it's gone -it's not in the HB unit anymore...nor on the card...
And if (big if) ....the Zero Line Card must be used in order for the HB unit to "read" and display the custom map data creaed in AutoCharts...Doug's statement of "all 5 guys can have the same custom map data" ...would seem to indicate that the "5 guys" must have their own Zero Line Card....
Maybe the Zero Line cards will be available without purchasing the entire AutoCharts program...which would make sense as you guys have already noted that "any" SD Card will only hold so much data before either ...1 the data is erased....or 2 another card must be obtained to hold more data ...
Like I mentioned before...all the info is not available yet because the product is not yet in customer's hands...we will learn more as things progress...
