I have had one go out too and it is not fun fishing like that.

I made a misquote in a previous post...

The 597ci HD DI can be set to which beam to obtain digital depth ...so you may be able to set the 597 to get depth source from the 455kHz DI beam ...and prevent crosstalk with the 598 getting digital depth from the 200kHz...(the 597 may need a certain version software for this option- I'm not sure)...

Even if there is crosstalk...simply press the "Power"'button once and an option to turn off the sonar is available...then that unit can be used as a GPS chartplotter...

Thanks for the help Rickie! I mounted the DI transducer with just silicone for the test run to see if the were any issues. I'm pleased to say I tried it out yesterday and everything worked great. I was very pleased that I was able to use the 598 just for SI and the 597 for maps and DI. I was also glad that I took your advise on the transducer just to make sure it was going to be in the right spot before I drilled any holes to mount it. Thanks again!!

I shot a little video and I will post it. I will take some screen shots from the units when I go back.

Here is a short video of my redneck dual DI and SI units. I got to do some fine tuning on the pictures but all is working good. Thanks for the help guys. I will post some screen shots when I get back on the water.
