I am currently buyibng a new boat and want to set up my electronics the right way. Here is my situation. I am buying a new 2014 tracker 190 and am going to put a terrova ipilot with link and us2 on the front. I am taking this off of my old boat so I am fairly familiar with the operation. I have a hb798ci hdsi combo on my current boat as well. What I want to do is put a 998 SI on the console and move the 798 to the bow and then link the entire system together.
Questions
1. Will the US2 work on the 798 with DI? I know it is not capable of SI but using the 798 I have as DI is still more cost effective than buying a new DI unit and trying to sell the 798. For that matter is the US2 capable of down imaging with any unit?
2. Does the US2 allow you to see fish as well as structure while the terrova is under power? Have heard a number of comments about this and am not sure. I used the US2 late spring with an older HB unit and could pick up structure but never saw a fish.
3. I am confused to say the least if these three units can be used effectively together and if so what other hardware would I need besides all the ethernet cables and adapters and such.
