    I have the HB choke on my trolling motor and two ferrite rings on the power wires for my df and still have interference. I may pick up a couple more from Radio Shack and try them on my us2 cable. The new Fortrex causes considerable more interference than the Maxxum it replaced.

    I'm not sure what the actual instructions say for installing ferrite rings but it seems to me that the rings should be in the Xducer cable adjacent to the head unit...

    I would think that RF is bleeding "from" a 12v current "into" the sonar signal travelling thru the Xducer cable towards the head unit...

    Then the ferrite rings could "arrest" the RF from the Xducer cable's signal flow right before it went into the head unit...

    ...just thinking out load...

    Hit the water today and the ferrite ring done the trick... I was even able to turn off the noise filter and no interference

    well when i bought my terrova i bought a 570 bird had to run wire thru shaft to stop the problems. now i have bought a 587 and ran the new trans thru the shaft so as not to have this prob, but i was wrong. tried every setting on noise filter too. gonna have to call em n geg one sent out to me. funny thing, it does not happen immeadeatly, always the second or third trip out that the interferance starts....
