Give a man a fish and feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish and he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day!

Sorry guys but no map sharing over the Ethernet connection. I don’t know whether this is due to a legal issue or a limitation on the Ethernet connection or units. I would bet though that the map card companies would not like it...
Yes the Ethernet cables are cheaper. Cost for an InterLink is about $130. the cost for a 20 foot Ethernet connection cable (AS-EC-20E) is about $55. If you are connecting a 700 Series unit with Ethernet you will need an additional cable (AS-EC-QDE) that is about $25.
I was wondering if you would consider selling the old unit? (585c)( when ready of course) if so please let me know at [email protected]
Thanks Greg!

I just ordered the 788 HD and Ethernet cables. I will let you know how it works out. I think I wil keep the 565 as a unit for high speed boat operation for now. If I decide to sell I will let you know. TS
I have a 898 for the console and am about to order the 788HD DI for the bow. I also needed something to share GPS with
Got the 788 mounted on the front. They are talking to each other down the Ethernet after I loaded the new software. I will take it on the water in the morning. I didn't get the DI because I wanted to use the US2 on the Terrova. Looks good so far but fishin is the test. TS
The ethernet connection cable will work for this as well.
That 788ci HD DI comes with an internal GPS Receiver.
It doesn't use the US2 according to my reading. Thanks for the help. Just came off the water and all works well.
