How to run parallel hookup for trolling batterys?
Im needing some help on how to run a parallel setup for my trolling batterys. I have a cranking battery and two seperate trolling batterys that I use and usually just swap the two out when they are dead or running low on juice. How do I hook the two trolling batterys together to get more running time from the two? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

if ur batteries arnt the same age and size ,one will pull the other one down.thats how i had my boat rigged first of last year,then i went to quick disconnect ends and unplug one when it goes down and plug the other one in

A slight variation to the example Bill posted is to attach the negative lead from the TM to battery #2 rather than battery #1. This is supposed to keep the discharge rate between the batteries more even by forcing the current through both jumper cables. It works on paper but I'm not so sure it is easy to measure the difference in the real world.Originally Posted by Barnacle Bill

You'll be happy with the 2 batteries together. I used to wear down 1 battery when fishing with my old aluminum boat, til I tied both together. I never ran out of juice after that. Works best with 2 equal use/age batteries. I bought 2 new identical batteries at wally and smiled right up until I sold the boat and moved up. All good info above.
