Thanks Shell - I'll take a look-see! If I understand you correctly, this will allow for foot control only. Right?

First off, did you buy a V2 motor, and have the I-Pilot installed by the seller, and not an I-Pilot V-2 built motor direct from MinnKota? I'm just reading the instructions from the I-Pilot conversion I bought. If your motor was manufactured as a V-2 only, and the seller installed the I-Pilot, I think disconnecting the black and white wires from the I-Pilot harness, and reconnecting them to the original ones should allow use of the foot pedal only. If your motor was built as an Auto-Pilot motor from the factory, you may need the old head unit. If you take the I-Pilot cap off the top of the motor shaft and see 6 wires just stubbed off, your motor was probably a Auto-Pilot motor from the factory. I'm heading out tomorrow morning for 10 days crappie fishing in VA. I'm bringing my old stuff with me just in case I have a failure.

Could you post some pictures of way the Ipilot head plugs into the TM control board. Pictures of all of it helps. I can usually tell by seeing the connections. If you can you unplug your Ipilot and plug in your foot pedal even though it won't work properly?

I have never seen the factory implemented Ipilot, so I don't know what I am really talking about.

I went and took it apart as Shell suggested. There are two wires (white & black) that are capped with heat shrink. This unit did not have Auto Pilot or Co-Pilot when purchased. I do have a picture on my desktop and save to an album but I don't know how to get it on here!

Look above the area you type a post or reply, where you can select bold print etc. The 3rd from the right is "insert image". Click on it and then add image from your computer.

These are the 2 wires that are capped. If I connect them, does that give me full control with the foot pedal or just steering?

I might be all wrong on what I'm telling you. I was assuming that you had a problem with the I-Pilot and wanted to be able to disconnect it and run your motor with the foot pedal. If that's the case, you should be able to reconnect the black and white wires, then plug the foot control into the socket the I-Pilot was in. There's no way you can run them both without Canepoles switch box.

You have a white and a black from the Ipilot that plugs into the steering motor? Does the Ipilot cable plug into that control board via a 7 pin plastic circular connector? Got a picture of the I pilot cable? Just making sure...........

Shell - I am not looking to control both. My i-Pilot works just worried about higher winds and not being able to control with the remote as well. Thought I might just go with foot control until I can get a box from Cane. Cane - The black & white wires in the fornt of the unit you see in the picture that are connected come from the "pigtail" connector you are referring towhich comes from the I-Pilot. My big question now is, if I disconnect those two from the I-Pilot and re-connect the two for the foot pedal, will I have full control with the pedal or steering only?

Does The I pilot cable have a circular connector which plugs into the control board circular connector? If so, you can reconnect the white and black, then plug your foot pedal into the connector where the Ipilot was connected. You should have straight foot control. No other function will work.
