I am waiting on parts from Japan. Gonna a while. Price we pay for dependence on others. The electronics warehouses don't stock near the inventory they once did. I am a peon, so I am at the bottom of the bucket.

Thanks Cane - I know you said you had parts on backorder. You are right, sure wishe we made more of this stuff in the good ole US of A!!! If I have my foot control with me, will I be able to just disconnect the control cable from the I-Pilot and hook up my foot pedal if need be? or, do I have to remove the entire I-Pilot Head unit? This would not be good since I didn't get the original head when I bought it and had installed at BPS!

I don't think you can get it to work without the original head. I could be wrong though, because my motor was an auto pilot model and it has the compass up there. Maybe all the wires in the head were just for the A/P. You still will have steering motor wires to contend with. If you didn't get the install directions with it, you could be in trouble.

I didn't get anything with the motor. Had it added to the boat when I bought it last fall. Had them put on the TM with I-Pilot. They did give me the foot pedal.

Don't suppose anyone has one of Cane Pole's famous switch boxes for sale?

My box only works with the units that are upgradable. The new factory V2 Ipilot without foot pedal gives me no wires to modify as Shellback said.

    Sorry.

I must have misunderstood what you were needing.

Did you get the owners manual for the I-Pilot? There are instructions in it for installing the I-Pilot. My motor was an Auto Pilot model and the installation involves more wires. But if the conversion was done on a regular V-2 Powerdrive, it may be just the 2 steering wires that have to be swapped back to their original connection. They are the black and white wires that run in a separate cable that goes into the powerdrive mounting base. Take the side covers off and pinch in on the sides to the top piece and remove it. You should see the black and white wire connections, and they may be shrink wrapped. Then see if there are a pair of loose black and white wires. If so, you should be able to reconnect them and plug your foot pedal in for use. Hopefully you have the owners manual and you can verify what I'm trying to explain to you.

Cane - I have the foot control for the TM. BPS just doidn't give me the original head that was replaced when they installed the I-Pilot.
