Yes, the HB Donut deal stinks to high heaven, but to malign either Doug or Tmike to get your point accross or to accuse them of being a patsy for HB just because they may be sponsored....that stinks more. It's guys like them with actual contacts into HB that can help get this thing address and beating them up for having the audacity to speak about it isn't going to help.

Wannabe, Tmike not only read my post wrong over there, but then paid me the highest insult you can on that board. Did I say he doesn't help people? No I didn't. I've agreed with so many things, and still stymie wants to start with me. I've called and contacted HB. Call a spade a spade though, and realize that Doug and Tmike are sponsored by HB, and at least in the bass industry they are the KVD's of HB. They are going to defend their sponsor. I'm not saying that's wrong either, but people need to understand that.

In the case of Tmike, people will follow whatever path he takes, and he chose to lash out on everyone, so the faithful followed. That's fine, that's life. But that doesn't stop me or anyone else interested in pursuing this with HB. The people who don't care, or don't know about the donut, can just not post on this thread. Then shellback is worried about potential HB purchasers, so he has to interject, in hopes that this thread will go away.

I want HB to address this. I've contacted them by phone, emailed them. Also wannabe, am I really being to hard on Tmike. Barnacle would have taken care of it, if I broke any rules? Am I right?

Guys, this thread is way OT right now. I'm pretty sure if this just turns into a few guys arguing it is going to get locked and disappear which is exactly what we DO NOT NEED if we want to keep the attention on getting the donut fixed.

Rickie has put a lot of thought and effort into this campaign and I think most of what has gone on in the last couple of pages has only served to undermine the original goal of the thread. There is progress being made, people at HB are being talked to, lets try to keep this thread from becoming a mockery like the one on BBC did. BTW, you don't think those guys over there aren't still watching this? They would love to see this thread do a death spiral so they could sit back and laught at us and buy a little stock in the marker buoy industry....

That's the trouble with folk, they take themselves way too seriously, especially on the internet. Doh As if my opinion actually means anything to anybody and if it really did, that'd only mean that person was a idjit in the first place. Rofl

Just got this in an email in response to my "please fix it" customer service email:

I challenge any HB owner to a .3mph duel. If you're so proud of your HB GPS, bring money.

Nothing to do with reported equipment position accuracy. It has to do with relative direction below the .5mph. Relative speed and direction can be estimated using software based on last known position history files and at these speeds, usually is pretty accurate. You not gonna make any sudden directional changes at .2 mph. holycow! Don't tell me it can't work below .5 mph ........... Geez.

How you think we landed on the moon? It was estimated with much cruder equipment. My story and I am sticking to it.

CP, you've been on to this a long time. There's got to be more to the story than a simple rewrite of a software program. Would a change that makes these calculations eat up precious memory that they reserve for other uses? I can't see it being a simple fix as some seem to think it would be, otherwise it would be a done deal. On the other hand though. There seems to be very few concerned about the donut. Maybe 25 people on here, BBC sent it down the tubes, and folks on Walleye Central, pretty much dismissed the issue. So what do you think, they don't care, too much trouble, or are they holding back just to spite you. LOL! Ole Greg probably put the word out on YA.

I don't know the answer to their donut issue. I am here to support the riff. Besides, I get to aggravate folks.

I would like a reasonable and responsible answer myself. Stonewalling and ignoring IS NOT an acceptable action or answer to any formal complaint about any product regardless of manufacturer. 3 years is little long for an answer.

26 x 2000 =50000, and over a life span runs up to 10000000. But there are probably more complain-tees we are not hearing from. Some can't.

I have issues with the HDS, but these issues have been addressed and will be fixed in the next software release.
