I don't know why it is but regardless of how the thread starts it will always fall into a Humminbird vs Lowrance debate. Just like on icefishing site its Marcum vs Vexilar.
If anyone doubts that Lowrance has a CS service problem dial their service number and time how long it takes until you get an answer. Then do the same with Humminbird. If you are hard to convince do it 3 or 4 times. Time to answer will reflect quite a bit if you think about it.
1. Not enough CS reps cause long answering delays. Reflects companys dedication to CS
2. Defective merchandise will trigger flood of calls. Reflect company's commitment to quality.
3. Picture yourself with a 1500-2000 dollar investment to improve your fishing . And it spends more time at the manufacturer than on the console of your boat. How high will your blood pressure soar ?
I am not going to bother to say which units I have. But believe me I did a ton of research before making a decision. This site plus many others was used to find out what I needed to know.
People have a way of adopting a brand of car , boat etc and it is the greatest simply because they own it. Their decision to buy it in the first place needs to be constantly justified. One thing my old man taught me " Buy in haste repent at your leisure. " Actually what he did say was saltier but this is a family site.
