Thumbs up Thumbs up to Humminbird CS

Had to send both units ( 797 C and 997C ) for repairs. THe 997 would not hold an SD card in. THe 797 c would not show fish when fish ID was being used.

Sent and got units back in less than a week. Since they could find nothing wrong with the 797C ( this was second time ) they packed a free new transducer.

CS was extremely helpful and courteous over the phone. Plus the Southern belle accent is always a pleasure to my ears. Lots of folks like to post about complaints and that is only natural. It sure is nice in this day of squeezing the corporate dollar. To find a company that really believes that CUSTOMER SERVICE is just not a drain on their bottom dollar. Of course Joby and Greg demonstrate this kind of dedication on this forum almost daily.

Enclosed letter from Service DEpartment did give me a chuckle though. They recommended I check operation ASAP. Kinda hard to launch boat right now.

I agree 100%. HB has been most pleasurable to deal with for me as well. Had forgot to reset to default mode when doing a update and needless to say the unit froze up. Sent the unit in and got it back in 4 days. I know folks that have been waiting for weeks on in for Lowrance to respond to a tech issue. Kudos to HB and Minn Kota! Fittin to get my di download now.

called them today with 20 questions about turning my 798 into an ice machine... all answered quickly, I think it was the first time I asked a CS rep that many questions and didn't have more than I did when I called!

I like Lowrance 2D, and Garmin GPS, but for an all-around dependable unit with great CS, I've gone to HB all the way. I appreciate the fact that we are able to get these substantial upgrades withou buying the "new improved models."
